Role Summary

Due to ongoing growth and strategic initiatives, our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer. This pivotal role offers the chance to lead the development of innovative electronic products that make a real-world impact. Working on a variety of technically challenging projects, you will play a key part in transforming initial concepts into tangible, market-ready solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and realisation of complex electronic systems, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Develop both analogue and digital circuits, ensuring they meet project specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Create and test prototypes, utilising your expertise to troubleshoot and refine designs.
  • Collaborate closely with customers and internal teams to understand project requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Investigate new technologies, components, and techniques to enhance product performance and innovation.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation, reports, and customer-ready design files.
  • Support the transfer of designs to manufacturing, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience designing complex electronic systems.
  • Proven expertise in schematic capture and PCB layout, preferably with Altium Designer.
  • Strong background in both analogue and digital electronics, including simulation and testing.
  • Hands-on experience with microcontroller system design and interfacing protocols (e.g. RS232, USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet).
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret datasheets, protocols, and technical specifications effectively.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, team-oriented environments with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with both colleagues and clients.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience designing with FPGAs, CPLDs, or DSPs.
  • Knowledge of power supply design and high-speed digital circuits.
  • Familiarity with wireless communication modules such as Wi-Fi, BLE/Bluetooth, RFID.
  • Experience with EMC testing, failure analysis, and verification of prototypes.
  • Background working within highly regulated development environments, e.g., medical devices or ATEX standards.
