I’m partnering with a growing healthcare organisation backed by private equity that is investing significantly in its UK data function. This is a newly created opportunity to play a key role in shaping the company’s data strategy while working with senior stakeholders across the UK and Europe.

The business’s private equity owner has already developed a sophisticated Azure-based data warehouse for its European operations. As the UK business continues to grow, they’re looking for an experienced Senior Azure Data Engineer to help replicate and optimise this platform, giving the UK team access to reliable, high-quality data and enabling the creation of impactful Power BI dashboards and reporting.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the UK data platform, working closely with the European technology team while acting as the technical lead for the UK business.

What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborating with the European data team to replicate and enhance the existing Azure data warehouse.
  • Building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data platform solutions using Azure technologies.
  • Improving data accessibility to support Power BI reporting and business intelligence.
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders, including the CTO, CFO and business leaders, to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
  • Supporting the organisation’s future AI and LLM ambitions by ensuring robust data governance, GDPR compliance and secure handling of PII.
  • Driving best practice across data engineering, architecture and governance.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong commercial experience with Azure Databricks.
  • Experience designing, building or supporting Azure-based data warehouse solutions.
  • Strong Azure ecosystem knowledge, including technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric or Azure SQL.
  • Advanced SQL and Python skills.
  • Experience supporting reporting and analytics through Power BI.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience within healthcare or another regulated industry would be advantageous, particularly where GDPR and sensitive data governance are key considerations.

What’s on offer

  • Salary of £70,000–£85,000 depending on experience.
  • The opportunity to join a growing UK business and make a genuine impact.
  • Exposure to modern Azure technologies and AI-focused data initiatives.
  • Hybrid working from Bristol, with flexibility after the initial onboarding period.
  • Weekly travel to London initially, with expenses covered.
  • A collaborative environment with close interaction with senior leadership and international teams.

If you’re an experienced Azure Data Engineer looking for a role where you can influence strategy, build modern data solutions and play a key part in a growing organisation’s data journey, I’d love to hear from you.
