Senior GNC Engineer
iO Associates are currently partnered with a company who are an emerging player in the European space sector, developing advanced in-orbit servicing capabilities. Their work focuses on autonomous guidance, navigation and control systems to enable complex spacecraft operations including proximity manoeuvres, inspection and life-extension missions.
With multiple active and upcoming missions, they are continuing to grow their engineering capability and are seeking a Senior GNC Engineer to join their team in Toulouse.
The Role
- Design and development of advanced GNC algorithms for spacecraft applications
- Integration of control algorithms with onboard systems including sensors, actuators and flight computers
- Analysis of system performance, robustness and sensitivity under varying mission conditions
- Contribution to operational concepts and system safety strategies, including fault management approaches
- Support to verification and validation activities across simulation and system-level testing
- Involvement in mission readiness and operational phases, including complex manoeuvre execution
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Circa 8+ years experience in spacecraft GNC, AOCS or flight dynamics
- Track record of contributing to at least one space mission or equivalent programme
- Strong programming capability, ideally with experience in MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools
- Experience working with embedded or flight software environments is advantageous
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering team
- Fluent in English
