Senior Landing Gear Engineer – New Aircraft

iO Associates is currently partnering with an innovative client in the aerospace sector, seeking a Senior Landing Gear Engineer to provide technical expertise and leadership in the design, analysis, and development of landing gear systems for a new and innovative aircraft program. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the reliability, performance, and safety of a brand-new aircraft.

As a member of a dynamic and innovative team, you will be responsible for landing gear design, structural analysis, system integration, and testing, while ensuring compliance with the strictest aerospace standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Over 7 years in aerospace engineering, with a specialization in the design and analysis of landing gear systems.

  • Software: Proficiency in CAD and FEA tools (e.g., CATIA, NX).

  • Language: Intermediate level in French (B1 or higher).

  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of mechanical systems, stress analysis, and aerospace materials.

  • Certification: Experience with aircraft certification processes and regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA).

  • Education: Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of landing gear components and assemblies, optimizing for performance, weight, and manufacturability.

  • Perform structural and mechanical analyses using FEA and manual calculations to validate strength, stiffness, and fatigue life.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of landing gear systems into the airframe.

  • Support qualification, verification, and validation testing, including static, dynamic, and fatigue tests.

  • Ensure compliance with aerospace regulatory standards and quality assurance processes.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Prepare technical reports, present findings, and support program milestones.
