Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed analysis of aerospace manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, and production support activities, to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.

  • Lead and implement Lean transformation initiatives across manufacturing and support functions, focusing on productivity, quality, and lead-time reduction.

  • Manage cross-functional and cross-site Lean improvement projects, ensuring initiatives deliver measurable improvements in operational performance.

  • Apply Lean methodologies to optimise production flow, value streams, and shop floor processes within aerospace manufacturing environments.

  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to improve process stability, standardised work, and manufacturing efficiency.

  • Support the development and implementation of the organisation’s Lean strategy aligned with aerospace programme delivery requirements.

  • Adapt Lean tools and methodologies to address challenges specific to high-precision and regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Design and deliver Lean training workshops and leadership coaching for managers, engineers, and shop floor teams.

  • Drive organisational engagement in continuous improvement initiatives, supporting cultural transformation and adoption of Lean principles.

  • Monitor and evaluate improvement initiatives using manufacturing performance metrics such as OEE, cycle time, lead time, and defect rates.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience applying Lean manufacturing methodologies within aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environments.

  • Strong track record leading complex operational improvement or transformation projects within manufacturing organisations.

  • Practical experience implementing Lean tools such as value stream mapping, root cause analysis, standardised work, and waste reduction.

  • Familiarity with aerospace quality and regulatory environments, ideally including AS9100.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and German, with the ability to engage stakeholders across technical and operational teams.

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, quality, and supply chain.

  • Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving and project execution.

  • Self-driven mindset with the ability to lead improvement initiatives independently within complex manufacturing environments.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Advanced certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.

  • Experience supporting aerospace programmes for organisations such as Airbus, Boeing, or Rolls-Royce.

  • Experience implementing Lean transformation initiatives across multi-site aerospace manufacturing operations.

  • Demonstrated capability in coaching senior leadership and facilitating large-scale operational change programmes.
