Mechanical Engineer – New Product Development

Oil & Gas / Downhole Tools

We are working with a global engineering technology company that develops high-performance downhole tools used in drilling, fishing, wellbore departure, abandonment, and intervention operations.

They are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support new product development, taking tools from concept and design through prototype, testing, field trials, and commercialization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical downhole tools from concept through product launch

• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings (Creo preferred)

• Perform engineering calculations and support FEA and design analysis

• Develop and support prototype and laboratory testing

• Work with manufacturing teams and suppliers to refine prototypes

• Support field trials, troubleshooting, and product improvements

• Participate in design reviews and product development processes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

• 3-7 years’ mechanical design or product development experience

• Oil & Gas industry experience required

• Experience with downhole tools, drilling, or fishing applications preferred

• Proficiency with 3D CAD (Creo or similar)

• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T

This is a hands-on engineering role offering the opportunity to take ownership of mechanical systems and see designs progress from concept through real-world field deployment.
