iO Associates has partnered with a Salesforce consulting organization supporting a business-critical freight application. We are seeking an experienced Senior Node.js Developer with strong Heroku knowledge to provide build and support expertise across Node.js components, helping ensure stability, performance, and delivery of committed outcomes.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will work in an Agile/Scrum environment, contributing to new development and ongoing support, with a DevOps mindset to drive reliable releases and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide build and support expertise for a freight application focused on Node.js components.
• Deliver committed outcomes across application development and production support activities.
• Contribute to development across Node.js and JavaScript services, ensuring clean, maintainable code.
• Work with PostgreSQL to support data modelling, performance, and reliability requirements.
• Adopt and contribute to DevOps ways of working, including CI/CD practices and release support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum model to plan, build, test, and deliver changes.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application issues to maintain platform stability and performance.
• Support continuous improvement across engineering practices, tooling, and delivery processes.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of commercial experience as a Node.js Developer, including strong JavaScript expertise.
• Strong working knowledge of Heroku in production environments (deployments, configuration, operations/support).
• Proven experience working with PostgreSQL, including query optimisation and data best practices.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum delivery model.
• Strong DevOps mindset, with exposure to CI/CD and operational support practices.
• Comfortable working remotely, collaborating across distributed teams in Europe.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience supporting freight, logistics, or high-availability transactional platforms.
• Exposure to monitoring/observability tooling and production incident management.
• Broader cloud/platform experience alongside Heroku (where relevant).
