Freelance Opportunity: Senior Oracle EBS & Linux Architect (Contract, Fully Remote – applications accepted from anywhere in Europe)

As part of their ongoing strategic expansion, they are seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle E-Business Suite and Linux specialist to join their team on a full-time contract basis. This role offers a unique chance to influence large-scale technology architectures, working remotely from anywhere within Europe.

Role Overview:

This position plays a vital part in supporting the company’s evolving infrastructure and technology stack. You will lead efforts to optimise Oracle EBS backend and application components, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement scalable, automated solutions. Your expertise will directly impact the stability and performance of critical enterprise systems, contributing to ongoing innovation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and enhance Oracle EBS backend and application-tier architectures
• Troubleshoot issues spanning EBS, Oracle Database, middleware, and Linux environments
• Support system installations, cloning, upgrades, patches, and migrations
• Diagnose Linux performance challenges related to CPU, memory, networking, and filesystems
• Develop automation scripts and reusable tools for deployment and maintenance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop technical standards, runbooks, and best practices

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven hands-on experience with the Oracle E-Business Suite technology stack, including architecture and application management
• Strong Linux/Unix system administration skills, with expertise in troubleshooting and performance tuning
• Practical knowledge of EBS cloning, patching, upgrades, and environment management
• Ability to diagnose and resolve issues across application, database, middleware, OS, and networking layers
• Significant experience scripting in shell and automating Linux or EBS tasks
• A senior technical background with at least 10 years supporting complex enterprise environments
• Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively with distributed teams

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Experience with Oracle EBS R12.2 and Oracle WebLogic
• Familiarity with Python and configuration management tools
• Exposure to cloud-hosted EBS environments and high-availability architectures
• Skills in automated provisioning and security hardening of infrastructure
