We’re supporting a growing consultancy delivering high-impact transformation programmes across Central Government and Defence. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the direction, delivery and evolution of complex digital, data and technology programmes.

Active SC Clearance Required

Hybrid Working: 1-2 days onsite in Central London

Day Rate: £625/day Outside IR35

Start Date: End of October

The Opportunity

As a Senior Product Manager, you’ll be responsible for defining product vision, shaping strategic roadmaps and driving delivery across complex Government and Defence programmes.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, operational users, architects, engineers and delivery teams, you’ll ensure products are aligned to user needs, organisational objectives and operational outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to influence product strategy from discovery through to live service, whilst helping clients navigate complex transformation challenges in secure environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and communicate product vision, strategy and long-term roadmaps
• Lead discovery and product development activities to identify user needs and opportunities
• Own and prioritise product backlogs, ensuring focus on value and business outcomes
• Work closely with technical, design and delivery teams to shape product direction
• Engage and influence senior stakeholders across Government and Defence organisations
• Translate complex operational challenges into clear product initiatives and delivery plans
• Drive product performance, benefits realisation and continuous improvement activities
• Support Agile delivery teams throughout the product lifecycle
• Ensure products align with strategic objectives, user needs and operational requirements

Experience Needed

• Recent Government, Defence or National Security experience
• Proven experience operating as a Senior Product Manager, Lead Product Manager or Product Lead
• Strong background delivering complex digital and technology transformation programmes
• Experience owning product strategy, roadmaps, backlogs and prioritisation
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments
• User-centred and outcome-focused approach to product development
• Familiarity with GDS principles and service transformation
• Active SC Clearance (or higher)
