Senior RF Engineer

iO Associates are currently partnered with an innovative engineering organisation seeking a Senior RF Engineer to join their hybrid team in Delft, Netherlands. You’ll evaluate, optimise and troubleshoot RF systems across advanced programmes, with a focus on solving complex EMI/EMC challenges. This role suits an engineer with strong RF and microwave fundamentals and hands-on experience delivering systems from concept through to validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out RF and antenna simulations using industry-standard tools to assess and predict performance
  • Develop and execute verification and validation test plans
  • Analyse test and simulation data to identify faults and optimise performance
  • Investigate and resolve RF-related issues including interference, noise and EMC challenges
  • Apply best practices in grounding, shielding and filtering
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate RF subsystems into wider products
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including reports and specifications
  • Support field trials and system-level performance assessments
  • Maintain awareness of emerging RF technologies and engineering approaches

Requirements & Desirable Experience

  • Degree (BSc/MSc or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-4 years experience in RF engineering or RF system design
  • Strong understanding of RF principles, microwave engineering and antenna design
  • Experience with tools such as HFSS, CST, MATLAB, Genesys or Python
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (e.g. spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, network analysers)
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC design and compliance techniques
  • Familiarity with international RF/EMC standards and regulatory frameworks
  • Understanding of RF PCB design and layout considerations
  • Experience with RF prototyping and analogue system development
  • Exposure to developing tools or scripts for RF analysis and testing
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and operate independently
