Senior / Principal Design Manager – Design & Build (D&B)
Locations: Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow/ Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Salary: £65,000 – £85,000 (DOE)

Our client is a leading global engineering consultancy delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally. They are seeking an experienced Senior / Principal Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary Design & Build (D&B) projects within the water sector.

You will lead design delivery on large-scale water infrastructure projects, ensuring quality, efficiency, and innovation across the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams on complex D&B projects
• Manage design delivery, budgets, and programme milestones
• Review and approve technical outputs (reports, drawings, calculations)
• Act as the key client interface and escalation point
• Support business development and bid activities
• Provide technical leadership and mentor team members

Skills & Experience

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Chartered Engineer (CEng)
• Strong experience in the water sector and D&B delivery
• Knowledge of hydraulics, wastewater, clean water, and pipelines
• Familiar with CDM, Eurocodes, NEC, and industry standards
• Experience with AutoCAD, CDEs, MS Office, and Power BI
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
