Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer

Multiple UK Locations – Hybrid (3 days office/site)

Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer is required for a leading international engineering consultancy delivering major infrastructure and utilities programmes across the UK and globally. The organisation specialises in complex, large-scale design and advisory services across water, energy and critical infrastructure markets, supporting long-term national investment frameworks.

Skills:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience within the UK Water sector is desirable.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (or working towards).
• Proven experience leading Mechanical design delivery within a consultancy environment.
• Strong knowledge of pumps, blowers, screens and chemical dosing systems.
• Understanding of UK design standards and legislation including CDM and DSEAR.

You will lead and coordinate Mechanical design delivery on multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on pumping systems and water & wastewater treatment schemes. Responsibilities include producing and reviewing technical deliverables (reports, drawings, calculations), ensuring compliance with UK design standards, supporting project milestones and budgets, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing technical input to bid proposals.
