Software Developer – Machine Control (C#)

Bochum, Germany | Full-time, permanent | €55,000 to €70,000 + Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)

We have partnered with a fast-growing Scaleup who develop process machinery for the semiconductor industry. With their industrial systems now in the field, they are looking for a Software Developer to join the team writing the software that runs their machines. This is a hands-on role for an Engineer who enjoys seeing their code interact with real hardware, not web or server work.

The Role
You will develop and maintain the core machine software that controls interfaces to all machine systems: PLCs, sensors, laser systems and the user interface on top. You will work as part of the software team alongside R&D, production and project management, and spend time in the lab debugging directly at the machine.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining hardware-related machine software in C#
• Building the hardware/software interfaces to PLCs, sensors and laser systems
• Developing GUIs as part of the machine HMI
• Debugging at the machine in the lab
• Writing automated tests and technical documentation

Candidate profile:

• At least 2 years of industry experience in software development
• Strong object-oriented programming skills in C# or C++
• Experience developing software which interfaces with hardware
• Embedded or microcontroller experience is a strong plus
• Happy to work hands-on at the machine, not just at a desk
• Business level English. German is nice to have but not essential
