Technical Architect

Travel: 5 Days per week on-site in Didcot
Clearance: BPSS and SC eligibility
Rate: Up to £850 Inside IR35
Contract Length: 6 months

I’m looking for an experienced Technical Architect to support a major programme focused on evolving and modernising a complex service-oriented architecture environment. This is a hands-on architectural leadership role requiring strong stakeholder engagement, technical analysis, and strategic design capability.

The successful candidate will play a key role in assessing the current architecture, defining future-state technical direction, and guiding development teams through scalable and resilient architectural improvements.

Experience Required

• Proven experience working as a Technical Architect within complex enterprise environments
• Strong background in service-oriented and distributed system architecture
• Experience designing scalable, resilient, and maintainable platforms
• Strong understanding of API design and service communication protocols
• Experience with messaging technologies and event-driven architectures
• Knowledge of data integration, data flows, and system interoperability
• Experience working with Java-based enterprise applications and environments
• Ability to produce high-quality architectural documentation and diagrams
• Strong stakeholder management and technical communication skills
• Experience supporting Agile or incremental delivery environments
• Ability to evaluate technical risks, dependencies, and architectural trade-offs
• Experience defining technical standards, governance, and best practices
