3x Senior UCD Consultants

Salary: £70,000 – £85,000
Location: London or Manchester – mostly remote
Clearance: SC Cleared or Eligible

We’re looking for experienced Senior Consultants to join a growing User-Centred Design capability, supporting the delivery of complex digital services across Government and Defence.

We’re hiring across several UCD specialisms, including:

• Interaction Design / UX Design
• User Research
• Content Design

You’ll work within multidisciplinary agile teams, collaborating with users, engineers, architects, product and delivery professionals to create accessible, intuitive and effective digital services.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Understanding user needs and translating them into effective digital services and experiences.
• Planning and conducting user research, testing and validation.
• Designing user journeys, workflows, interactions and prototypes.
• Creating clear, accessible and user-focused content.
• Analysing research and user feedback to identify insights and opportunities.
• Iterating and improving services based on evidence and user needs.
• Championing user-centred and inclusive design throughout delivery.
• Working closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contributing to UCD standards, capability and best practice.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience within Interaction Design, UX, User Research or Content Design.
• Experience working within agile, multidisciplinary digital delivery teams.
• Strong understanding of user-centred design and accessibility.
• Experience simplifying complex problems and making services easier to understand and navigate.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Government, Defence or wider public-sector experience is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with GOV.UK design principles, the Service Standard and government design patterns would be beneficial.
• SC clearance or eligibility to obtain SC clearance.
