Walking with the Wounded helps to support previously serving members of the Armed Forces and their families in collaboration with the NHS. They support in several areas, including mental health, social and physical help, employment and care coordination. They also help with qualifications and long-term employment to help veterans enter society safely.
iO specialises in the provision of specialist cleared contracts and permanent resources within Government & Defence. We also have extensive experience in recruiting the highest calibre of talent.
Our Government & Defence arm specialises across C4I & Cyber, EW & Mission Data, Simulation & Training, Secure Cloud and Data & AI, resourcing for a variety of roles including Systems & Software Engineers, P3M & PMO, Cloud & Infrastructure and Bid & Acquisition Support.
As iO is heavily embedded in the Defence community, we are thrilled that we can show our support through this exciting partnership with Walking for the Wounded. Danny Watts, iO Associates’ Defence Director, said, “It’s hugely important to us to enhance our communities, it’s in our mission statement for a reason after all!
Everyone in the UK owes our Armed Forces a debt of gratitude, and with us, it’s doubly so. As we start the year, we have made it a key objective to raise as much money for military charities as possible.
It’s a big challenge as we’re completing two marathons’ worth of miles in one day, but that’s nothing compared to what our armed men and women go through for us daily, so we’re very much up for the challenge!”
The walk will begin from our Bristol HQ, making our way to 2 significant MoD facilities in Bristol and Wiltshire as part of a 52-mile circular.
As well as putting our own team together, we are looking for others to join us for the entire walk, individual stages OR at the start and the finish.
