IT Support Engineer
Hybrid - Cardiff (2 days a week on site)
Salary - £30,000 - £33,000
We're working with a well-established organisation in the pharmaceutical sector that plays a vital role in supporting independent businesses across the UK. Their mission is to empower community-focused operations through smart technology, reliable systems, and responsive support. As they continue to grow, they're looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join their team and help maintain and improve their core infrastructure.
This is a broad and hands-on role, ideal for someone with solid 2nd Line Support experience and the confidence to dip into 3rd Line tasks. You'll be the go-to person for everything from server and network administration to user support and bespoke software troubleshooting.
What You'll Be Doing:
Server Support
Manage backups, security protocols, and business continuity planning
Support and maintain printers and scanners
Web & Cloud Support
Configure and maintain IIS and FTP services
Recommend improvements to existing cloud-based processes
Network Administration
Support firewalls, switches, routers, and cabling infrastructure
Oversee internet connectivity, telephony (landline & mobile), and IT hardware
PC & User Support
Handle desk moves, software installations, and troubleshooting
Provide responsive support to internal users and external members
Telephony & Bespoke Software
Troubleshoot phone systems and support in-house maintained applications
Assist with order queries and ensure smooth user experience
What You'll Bring:
Essential Skills
Experience administering Windows-based servers
Strong understanding of backups and network infrastructure
Familiarity with web servers and FTP configuration
Confident troubleshooting across hardware, software, and connectivity issues
Bonus Skills
Exposure to Office 365 and Azure environments
Experience supporting bespoke or process-driven software
Understanding of security policies and accessibility standards
