This role is a strategic hire driven by the organisation's focus on advanced automation, Industry 4.0 integration, and embracing AI-driven process optimisation. As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will be instrumental in shaping and deploying state-of-the-art automation solutions that directly influence production efficiency and process intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and deployment of sophisticated automation and process control systems across multiple production lines.
Integrate and leverage AI, machine learning, and smart sensor technologies for real-time process monitoring and control.
Ensure seamless IT/OT integration for secure data exchange between automation systems and enterprise platforms.
Standardise automation frameworks and promote Industry 4.0 practices within the manufacturing environment.
Provide technical support during commissioning, troubleshooting, and continual improvement of automation infrastructure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative automation solutions aligned with business goals.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Extensive experience in automation and process control within manufacturing settings, preferably in the food, pharmaceutical, or chemical sectors.
Proven track record in deploying AI-based solutions for process enhancement.
Proficiency in PLC/SCADA programming, industrial networking, and IT/OT integration.
Strong project management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages would be advantageous.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

Hands-on experience with Industry 4.0 technologies and smart sensor integration.
Background working with real-time data acquisition and advanced manufacturing systems.
