This role is a strategic hire driven by the organisation's focus on advanced automation, Industry 4.0 integration, and embracing AI-driven process optimisation. As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will be instrumental in shaping and deploying state-of-the-art automation solutions that directly influence production efficiency and process intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of sophisticated automation and process control systems across multiple production lines.
  • Integrate and leverage AI, machine learning, and smart sensor technologies for real-time process monitoring and control.
  • Ensure seamless IT/OT integration for secure data exchange between automation systems and enterprise platforms.
  • Standardise automation frameworks and promote Industry 4.0 practices within the manufacturing environment.
  • Provide technical support during commissioning, troubleshooting, and continual improvement of automation infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative automation solutions aligned with business goals.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in automation and process control within manufacturing settings, preferably in the food, pharmaceutical, or chemical sectors.
  • Proven track record in deploying AI-based solutions for process enhancement.
  • Proficiency in PLC/SCADA programming, industrial networking, and IT/OT integration.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages would be advantageous.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with Industry 4.0 technologies and smart sensor integration.
  • Background working with real-time data acquisition and advanced manufacturing systems.
  • Experience in leading cross-disciplinary technical projects.
