The role:

Design, simulate, and optimise photonic components and integrated systems for quantum applications
Collaborate with physicists and engineers to prototype and test photonic devices in lab environments
Develop experimental setups for laser systems, fiber optics, and nonlinear optical processes
Analyse data and iterate designs to improve performance, scalability, and reliability
Contribute to patent filings, publications, and technical documentation

Profile of the ideal candidate:

PhD or Master's in Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Strong hands-on experience with lasers, interferometry, fiber optics, and optical characterization tools
Familiarity with simulation software (e.g. Lumerical, COMSOL, Zemax) and lab instrumentation
Experience in quantum optics, integrated photonics, or nonlinear optics is a major plus
A startup mindset: proactive, curious, and excited to build from scratch
