iO Associates are seeking an experienced Certification Engineer for a 6 month contract on-site in Basel, Switzerland.
As part of the Airworthiness team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating designs and modifications through the certification process, from initial concept through to final approval.

You will be part of the EASA Part 21J Design Organisation, supporting Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) projects on CS 25 large aircraft.


The role involves working closely with CVEs and the rest of the engineering team to ensure that designs comply with all relevant regulatory requirements and standards.


The successful candidate should be capable of working on and managing several projects simultaneously, working on a variety of modifications including VIP Completions, refurbishments, modifications, upgrades, defence and special mission aeroplanes.



Main Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of certification documents such as classification assessment, certification plans and compliance checklists.
  • Project manage the certification activities including schedule, resource and budget.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with the regulatory authorities to address certification issues and obtain approvals.
  • Manage STC projects as Office of Airworthiness focal point for engineering.
  • Coordinate with the compliance verification engineers and act as project manager for certification.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies.
  • Perform validation activities with other national aviation authorities outside of EASA.
  • Collaborate with other internal stakeholders providing guidance on certification-related matters
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers
  • Assist the Office of Airworthiness in the development of procedures to maintain the Design Organisation Approvals.


Minimum Requirements:

  • a Swiss Passport OR an EU Passport OR a Swiss Work Permit*
  • 3 years of experience in aircraft certification, regulatory compliance, project coordination, or a related field within aerospace industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of EASA regulations and standards.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Successful working experience in highly collaborative environments, demonstration to take initiatives and lead efforts inside the team.
  • Fluent command of English language - both written and spoken.
