Electronics Design Engineer - Bedfordshire - Semiconductor - Permanent

Purpose of the role:

My client is looking for an Electronics Design Engineer to manufacture solutions for the semiconductor device test market.

You will be responsible for developing products from concept stage, designing schematics and PCB layouts.

Essentially if you are looking to work within a collaborative team dynamic, with the opportunity to dabble in other disciplines to understand how each team's components will integrate together- then this is the role for you!

The team you will working amongst will include software, electronics, and mechanical disciplines.

This role has come about due to company expansion and they need an Electronics Design Engineer to assist on existing and new R&D projects.

Therefore, this role is all about adaptability, as you will be required to work on multiple projects at one time - goodbye to those mundane repetitive day to day responsibilities!

Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for detailed design of complex, multi-layer PCB's, with experience on analogues and digital electronics
  • Responsible for the detailed design of machine and test probing cabling, using Draftsight or AutoCAD
  • Designing bespoke requirements around the core product platform based on customer specifications
  • Understanding of firmware and software interactions with microcontroller-based designs in C or C++.
  • Maintaining equipment and product Certification to ensure conformity to European standards (CE marking)

Essential requirements:

  • Microcontroller and microprocessor-based design
  • Firmware in C, C++
  • Electronics Testers and measurement equipment i.e. Keithley Tektronix and/or Keysight
  • Technical drawing using Cadence (OrCad, Allegro) and AutoCad/ Draftsight
  • Analogue and digital design

Desirable:

  • Semiconductor industry experience
  • Precision instrumentation
