Lead DevOps Engineer
Hybrid - Bristol (preferred)
£85,000 - £100,000 + benefits

A leading financial services provider with a strong UK presence is looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to help drive their cloud-first approach and support a major migration to Azure. This is a great opportunity to join a highly respected enterprise at a pivotal point in its digital transformation journey.

You'll work across the full product lifecycle from design and build through to deployment, automation, and support. Automation and Infrastructure as Code are central to this team's work, so we're looking for someone with a passion for CI/CD and a strong background in tools like Bicep, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions.

What you'll do:

  • Design and implement scalable, secure cloud infrastructure (in Azure) using Bicep and CI/CD pipelines
  • Support multiple product teams in their migration journeys and ongoing platform operations
  • Create automation scripts for deployment, configuration, and monitoring
  • Contribute to cloud governance, security, and optimisation best practices
  • Mentor and guide junior DevOps team members
  • Champion reusability, cloud-first principles, and DevOps excellence

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience in DevOps or cloud infrastructure roles within large-scale environments
  • Strong knowledge of Azure
  • Deep hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (especially Bicep, Terraform, or ARM)
  • Skilled in CI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell and/or Python)
  • Exposure to containerisation and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Confident communicator with a collaborative approach
  • Azure certifications are a plus
