iO Associates are currently working with a leading Vacuum technology business who employ over 4000 people worldwide with manufacturing facilities across Europe, Asia and North America.

The business are market leaders working within multiple industries manufacturing sophisticated vacuum products & exhaust management systems, with a clear progression path from the moment you join, the company have been operating for more than 100 years giving you great stability.

This exciting opportunity would be to work at a facility in Clevedon. They are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Technician. This role will develop an in-depth understanding of our processes and deliver ongoing support for improvements to ensure they are successfully embedded. As well as identifying further continuous improvement opportunities, the role holder will identify areas that function effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Process scrap reject tickets in SAP following SQE usage decision
  • Arrange repair of parts 'damaged By Edwards' either returning to suppliers or in house with parts purchased as necessary or materials available (touch up Paint).
  • Perform 2nd check on parts reported as leaking by production (use of blanking tools and Helium leak check equipment) before return to supplier.
  • Support SAP reject activity including part returns and collections
  • Conduct stock inspections to identify defective parts as necessary
  • Conduct goods in inspections where parts have been quarantined by SQE's

Skills

  • A good mechanically biased engineering knowledge with a good level of education
  • Experience in repairs and modifications to mechanical and pneumatic assemblies.
  • Hold a forklift licence (training to be given to operate BENDI fork lift)
  • Experience in the use of a range of engineering and inspection tools and materials.
  • Able to work on own initiative without supervision.
  • SAP skills (or other company computer system) to record scrap information and support reject returns during holiday / high workload.
