Data Engineer (September-Start)

I'm working to support a company which provides analytical and AI-driven services based in North Rhine-Westphalia. They require a Freelance Senior Data Engineer for a 24 month project, building, developing and optimizing modern data infastrcures with a particular focus on AI applications (scalable pipelines, vector databases and cloud platforms).

Responsibilities:

You'll support in developing, implementing and optimizing ETL processes for data preparation
Develop and maintain (scalable) data infrastructures and AI components (e.g. vector databases)
Collaborate with MLOps teams and teams of Data Scientists.
Help in optimising databases and data pipelines for a range of AI applications
Ingrate structured and unstructured data sources

About you:

Must be based in Germany and have a strong level of English communication skills
You must bring significant and/or recent experience working as an SME Freelance Data Engineer
Strong working knowledge of SQL, Java and Python
Project experience in ETL processes, modern architecture and data modelling

You must be confident working with different types of cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS)
You must have strong Snowflake framework knowledge
Relational and NoSQL database experience (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL)

Nice to have:

Knowledge of Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift (container) experience would be a plus
Experience and knowledge of other tools and frameworks such as Apache Airflow, Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, dbt, bigquery, Redshift)
