Job Title: HSE Manager
Location: Newcastle, UK
Position Type: 12months
Work hours: 07:30 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:30 to 12:30 Friday

iO Associates are looking for a HSE Manager with over 5 years of experience in Construction, Oil & Gas, Nuclear industry, or a relevant engineering background to work within manufacturing operational environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting a specific site or project, which may include construction work. This role will involve EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) professionals who are focused on "designing for EHS" (New Product Introduction), individuals responsible for engaging with customers or industries, and EHS professionals working at customer sites or projects. The candidate should be able to develop ideas for the medium-term future of their department and suggest plans for the larger unit (whether it's a function or a business unit).

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day EHS support at manufacturing sites and fixed facilities.
  • Understand broader EHS concepts and develop approaches.
  • Possess strong influencing skills and ability to develop team members.
  • Act as focal point for public relations with associations, governmental agencies, and clients
  • Plan, implement, and coordinate actions to maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Occupational Health, and Environment Regulations
  • Manage HSE KPIs and report to the board of directors and senior managers.
  • Ensure accidents and other EHS events are properly reported, investigated, and lessons learned are implemented on time.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. Minimum of 5 additional years of experience in Fixed Facilities
