Due to the nature of the contract, applicants must hold EU nationality and be eligible to work on a freelance basis within the European Union.

iO Associates are partnering with a company who are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Electrical Integration Engineer with a focus on interior systems. This freelance role will support aircraft modification and upgrade projects, integrating electrical and avionic systems and designing associated wiring solutions.

The position offers flexible working hours, with the option to work remotely depending on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design wiring systems and harnesses (e.g., AWD), including connectors, circuit breakers, and other standard components, with full Bill of Materials for aircraft integration.
  • Conduct Electrical Load Analysis and prepare technical reports.
  • Perform EWIS and EZAP assessments, delivering associated documentation.
  • Source and evaluate components to meet electrical engineering design needs.
  • Identify technical root causes and propose corrective actions.
  • Estimate workload, assess new technology options, and contribute to process improvements.
  • Provide technical input during design reviews, particularly on electrical design aspects.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Completed training in Safety Management Systems relevant to aviation design, production, or maintenance.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong knowledge of applicable airworthiness requirements (CS23, CS25, CS27).
  • In-depth understanding of EASA Part 21 regulations.
  • Proven ability to produce technical documents and reports.
  • Extensive background in aircraft electrical systems design and integration.
