  • This pivotal position is created to support our Client's expanding satellite testing operations. The AIT Engineer role is vital in ensuring the integrity and performance of satellite systems during testing phases, directly impacting the success of high-profile space missions. As part of a strategic initiative to enhance testing capabilities, this role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to influence key developments in satellite technology.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct comprehensive testing at unit, subsystem, and satellite levels, including electrical interface, functional, and system tests.
    • Monitor satellite health continuously throughout testing activities.
    • Develop, review, and maintain detailed test procedures and hardware work instructions.
    • Script and fine-tune test sequences, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
    • Compile detailed test reports, analysing data to evaluate system performance.
    • Lead test reviews, participating actively in technical review meetings with internal teams and external clients.
    • Identify, investigate, and resolve satellite non-conformance collaboratively with subsystem specialists.
    • Set up test configurations, including satellite connections, EGSE, and SAAPs, ensuring readiness for testing.
    • Perform other duties as required to optimise testing processes and support project objectives.

    Essential Skills & Experience

    • Professional experience in satellite or subsystem testing.
    • Proficiency in using electrical measurement tools, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and voltage sources.
    • Practical knowledge of testing equipment and protocols, including EGSE and CCS systems (e.g., CCS5, OCOE).
    • Familiarity with scripting languages like Tcl/Tk or Python is advantageous.
    • Strong ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and design documents.
    • Effective communication skills and proven team collaboration abilities.
    • Competence in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • A responsible, flexible approach with the capacity to work under tight schedules.
    • Fluency in written and spoken English.

    Desirable Skills & Experience

    • Experience with thermal, power, or security systems related to satellite subsystems.
    • Prior involvement in space mission testing or onboard computer systems.
    • Additional scripting or automation skills to streamline testing processes.
    • Knowledge of detailed satellite systems and subsystems is a plus.
