Position: Ballistics Engineer / Ballistics Manager (m/f/d)

Your Role

Join a leading European manufacturer of advanced protective solutions for military and law enforcement customers. In this role, you'll be part of a team that develops, tests, and delivers high-performance ballistic systems - from soft armour panels to hard composite plates and full protective vests.

You will explore new ballistic materials, conduct hands-on testing, and collaborate closely with design, R&D, and customer teams to turn innovation into practical, field-ready protection.

Key Responsibilities

Research and evaluate new ballistic materials to improve performance and reduce weight.
Develop, validate, and adapt soft and hard armour solutions for tenders and customer projects.
Participate in product testing and field trials with end-users.
Support the design team in integrating ballistic protection into functional, ergonomic carriers.
Work closely with R&D, sales, procurement, and production teams throughout the development cycle.
Present new solutions to customers and support technical discussions in tenders and projects.
Contribute to exhibitions and customer demonstrations.

Your Profile

Master's degree in Textile Engineering, Materials Science, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Interest or experience in ballistic protection, materials testing, or protective systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communicator who can liaise with military and law enforcement clients.
Team player with initiative and a hands-on mentality.
Fluent in English; Dutch and/or French are a strong advantage.
Willingness to travel for testing, customer visits, and exhibitions.
