iO Associates are currently working with a leading Vacuum technology business who employ over 4000 people worldwide with manufacturing facilities across Europe, Asia and North America.

The business are market leaders working within multiple industries manufacturing sophisticated vacuum products & exhaust management systems, with a clear progression path from the moment you join, the company have been operating for more than 100 years giving you great stability.

This exciting opportunity would be to work at a facility in Burgess Hill. They are looking to recruit an experienced Continuous Improvement Engineer. This role will develop an in-depth understanding of our processes and deliver ongoing support for improvements to ensure they are successfully embedded. As well as identifying further continuous improvement opportunities, the role holder will identify areas that function effectively.

Main Responsibilities

  • Standardising Best Practices
    • Create Communities of Best Practice to leverage functional knowledge across the Service organisation
    • Create a Continuous Improvement Culture through deployment of standard best practices
    • Develop training that supports the use of best practice and standardised approach to Continuous Improvement
  • Driving and Managing Change
    • Identify Areas for Improvement
    • Create a Plan for Improvement
    • Implement the Changes
    • Test and analyse results
    • Review the Impact
  • Support of Lean and Kaizen initiatives
    • Active support of the Service Divisions Kaizen program
    • Supporting projects as a continuous improvement subject matter expert, where needed
    • Coaching and training of continuous improvement/Kaizen methodologies
  • To consistently improve the functioning and overall efficiency of the Service Technology Centre's in all key areas, using recognised methodologies e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen, "Fail Fast, Fall Forward" (the use of simple experiments where failure is acceptable, but drives the improvement forward)
  • Facilitate the deployment of new and changed processes to provide improved results. Train and guide resources as needed.
  • Manage all continuous improvement activities with detailed project management


Qualifications

  • University degree or HND in an engineering discipline
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (prefered minimum)
  • Recognised project management qualification - Prince 2; Agile;
  • ISO Auditor (prefered)
