Cyber Assurer | £65K-£85K + Benefits | Remote (with some on-site travel)
About the Role
Join a high-impact cyber security and assurance team, securing mission-critical systems for Defence operations. Lead Secure by Design assessments, advise on government security policy, and ensure robust information assurance across diverse systems and environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Secure by Design Assurance assessments for new customers/projects
* Develop and execute assurance plans aligned with Defence security policies
* Provide expert guidance on NCSC, ISO 27001, and NIST standards
* Act as an impartial assessor of information risk and recommend mitigation strategies
* Perform audits and technical risk reviews
* Draft and review security policies, procedures, and assurance documentation
* Support stakeholders in recording key decisions, risks, and advice
* Participate in Security Working Groups and communicate findings to senior leadership
Required Skills
- Strong background in Secure by Design or DART accreditation programmes
* Solid knowledge of JSP, including TRRA and evidence requirements
* Expertise in cyber security and information assurance frameworks
* Experience across a range of system types and secure architectures
* Active SC clearance (minimum)
* One or more of the following: ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, CISA, CISSP, CISO, or NCSC Certified
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with Defence or in a similar secure/government setting
* Knowledge of CARP (Cyber Attack Recovery Planning)
* Familiarity with: RMADS, IS1 & IS2 Risk Assessments, GPG-13 (Protective Monitoring) and Cloud Security Principles
