Cyber Security Analyst

Job Title: Cybersecurity Analyst
Location: Manchester

Join our dynamic team as a Cybersecurity Analyst, where you'll play a key role in defending our organisation against evolving cyber threats. You'll leverage cutting-edge security technologies to detect, analyse, and respond to security incidents, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

Threat Hunting & Detection

  • Monitor and analyse security alerts using advanced SIEM, IDS/IPS, and NGFW systems.
  • Conduct proactive threat hunting with EDR and UBA tools to identify vulnerabilities

Incident Response & Forensics

  • Lead investigations and remediation of security incidents, including APTs and network intrusions.
  • Perform forensic analysis using tools like EnCase and FTK to determine root cause and impact.

Security Assessments & Hardening

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests using Nessus, Metasploit, and Burp Suite.
  • Implement security controls such as NAC, DLP, and WAF to harden systems.

Policy Development & Compliance

  • Develop and enforce security policies and best practices with NIST, COBIT, and CIS frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in cybersecurity, preferably in large organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and DLP technologies.
  • Understanding of threat actor tactics and network fundamentals (OSI, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP(S), SMTP).
  • Experience in security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevSecOps practices is a plus.
