Cyber Security Engineer - 6-Month Contract - OUTSIDE IR35 - Remote Working

iO Associates are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join my client on an intial 6-month contract role (this project will be 12+ months long) offering a competitive day rate (OUTSIDE IR35) for an immediate start. This role will offer remote working but you must be happy to travel to Bristol when required. The ideal candidate is someone who is have strong experience with Risk Management and Security assessments, using tools like OWASP and NIST, and with SIEM and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

Responsibilities

· Provide technical subject matter expertise, security standards and define security tools, systems, and solutions.

· Produce and maintain documentation for security standards.

· Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulations.

· Build automation to actively audit the infrastructure for security misconfigurations and compliance purposes.

· Provide clear guidance and education to the business as to group policies, legal requirements and procedures in place relating to Security issues.

· Liaise with 3rd party service providers on all matters relating to Information Security.

· Support the business in advising on key Information Security changes.

Essential Skills

· Demonstrable Cyber / Information Security knowledge and experience.

· Good understanding of Risk Management and Security assessments within an IT or Security environment.

· Knowledge of various security methodologies and processes, and technical security solutions (firewall, SIEM and intrusion detection/prevention systems, vulnerability scanners, etc.)

· Good understanding of Information Technology and software development vulnerabilities and risks.

· Knowledge of secure software development lifecycles and software security vulnerabilities.

· Awareness of secure software frameworks and guidelines such as OWASP, and NIST.
