Delivery Manager/Hybrid/London

£66,000 - £73,000 per annum

This role is remote for the foreseeable future with onsite client work where required and occasional travel to the head office in London for workshops/meetings.
I am currently hiring a Delivery Manager to manage a multi-disciplinary and cross-functional delivery team. You will be responsible for planning, organising, and motivating the team to achieve a high level of performance and quality in line with our clint standards. You will be leading on the implementation of Agile ways of working (ceremonies) within the team as well as promoting continuous improvement. You will be responsible for software delivery using the right agile methods in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple business divisions. Problem solving skills are key as you will be required to help the team remove impediments and blockers.

You will work closely with Product Managers, helping to deliver value against the product vision.

Main Responsibilities

  • Leading and facilitating agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, retros, sprint planning etc)
  • Working with Delivery teams on a day-to-day basis, helping the team to inspect and adapt their ways of working
  • Working with cross-functional teams at all stages of product delivery, including User Researchers, UI/UX Designers, Developers and Platform Engineers
  • Creating and maintaining achievable delivery plans, translating product roadmaps and features, predicting milestones based on forecasts where possible, using agile estimation techniques to assist this process
  • Applying techniques for managing risks, issues and dependencies and how to act on delivery data to mitigate risks
  • Developing and fostering effective ways of working, including defining best practises across all of our client engagements
  • Engaging and building relationships with relevant stakeholders
  • Monitoring trends in team performance and effectiveness, developing a style for engaging and motivating teams
  • Collecting feedback and data to suggest iterative improvements to the product, service, and ways of working within the delivery team
  • Making informed decisions on trade-offs with quality, both in planning and delivering
  • Budget and resource forecasting
  • Protecting the delivery team from external influences that may impact delivery
  • Assisting with defining and drafting commercial bids/statement of work


Essential Skills

You'll have a demonstrable passion for delivery with the following skills and experience in:

  • Agile mindset and experience
  • Experience of leading Scrum ceremonies
  • Communication skills and the ability to build relationships with both team members and stakeholders
  • Servant leader mindset when working as part of a team
  • High level understanding of CI/CD and DevOps principles
  • Understanding and experience of different delivery approaches and different phases of the delivery lifecycle
  • Create and maintain a delivery plan, highlighting forecasts/estimates and confidence levels
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean, SAFe
  • Ability to thrive in a consultancy environment, taking client and Zaizi requirements, different phases of project delivery and varying workload and types of work in your stride


Nice to have

  • Experience with GDS Standards (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live model or similar)
