Development Manager

Location: Fully Remote

Salary: upto 85k

Our client is as a cutting edge, award-winning firm who are the market leader in software-led risk management solutions for small and large businesses world-wide are looking for a Development Manager.

This role will require someone to lead a team of developers that oversee the development effort across a global suite of products that make up their Environmental & Social Governance (ESG) solution. This will include day-to-day management of software developers in the creation of high-quality software applications within an Agile environment, whilst building and promoting a positive working environment and motivating team members.

In this role, you will hold responsibility for proactively considering workforce planning needs, learning & development and maximising efficiency through productivity and performance.

· Sound understanding of technology domain

· Ideally have direct experience as an individual contributor in chosen area

· Resource Planning & responsible for ensuring appropriate resources are in place

· Be a leader for the development team, actively contributing towards development of tools,

services, processes, and platforms

· Collaborate with Delivery & Product teams, as well as the Engineering teams globally

· Prioritise, design, develop, test and deploy new and existing software aligned to the product

roadmap, meeting the changing needs of our key markets

· Oversee and regularly contribute to the ongoing improvement of team practices and Ways of Working, with an aim to making the team more effective and improving delivery

· Accountable for the team's quality, timely project delivery and success

· Oversee the objectives and priorities for the department

· Collaborate with key stakeholders - both within the Technology department and across the

business - to identify improvements to existing processes and services or where new services

could be developed

· Work closely with key stakeholders, implementation & operations teams, in the collection and

documentation of user requirements

· Plan, write, test and maintain code for web, mobile and desktop business applications in

accordance with established standards in an Agile environment

· Evaluate projects, develop and update schedules

· Organise, mentor and motivate a team of talented developers and steering them through a

significant period of growth and change

· Understand & communicate issues from both a technical and business functional point of view at

all levels from end-user to senior management

· Skilled at conflict resolution

· Mentor to staff

· Ability to handle multiple competing priorities

· Comfortable dealing with ambiguity

· Excellent communication skills. Ability to "translate" between technical & business

· Collaborative and able to inspire others

· Analytical and logical mind

· Ability to prioritise and work within deadlines

· Self-motivated. Ability to accomplish goals with minimal supervision

· Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
