iO Associates have partnered with an award winning Digital Transformation consultancy on their search for a DevOps Solution Engineer on a 6 months contract basis.

Job Description: As a DevOps Solution Engineer you will need expertise in migration strategies to facilitate the seamless integration of acquired companies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of the acquired company's infrastructure, applications, and DevOps practices.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and define migration objectives and success criteria.
  3. Develop migration strategies and roadmaps to transition the acquired company's systems and processes to align with our own.
  4. Lead the execution of migration plans, including data migration, application refactoring, and infrastructure modernization.
  5. Identify opportunities to optimize and streamline processes during the migration process.
  6. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of acquired company's tools and systems with our own.
  7. Provide technical guidance and support to teams involved in the migration process.
  8. Document migration processes, best practices, and lessons learned for future reference.
  9. Communicate progress, challenges, and mitigation plans to stakeholders and leadership.
  10. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve migration practices.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  2. Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a focus on migration projects.
  3. Strong knowledge of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
  4. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  5. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  6. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS ECS.
  7. Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  8. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  9. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  10. Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and post-merger integration processes.
  2. Certification in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  3. Knowledge of database migration strategies and technologies.
  4. Experience with legacy system modernization and re-platforming.
  5. Familiarity with compliance and security standards in regulated industries.
