Electrical & Controls Engineer

iO Associates has partnered with a global equipment manufacturer and are currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team. The selected candidate will be responsible for crucial role in developing electrical design solutions for our fully automated robotics line, working with circuits ranging from 20V to 24V control, and involving PLC programming.

Electrical Design Engineer

Salary upto £60,000

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide electrical design input for machine builds.
• Provide expertise in electrical design for our fully automated robotics line.
• Develop and implement solutions for circuits operating at 20V.
• Collaborate closely with the team to ensure seamless integration of 24V control systems.
• Utilize PLC programming skills to enhance system functionality and efficiency.
• Attend production and design meetings as necessary.
• Undertake tasks within your capabilities across the company.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in electrical design software, preferably SolidWorks Electrical 2D.
• Experience working with 20V circuits and 24V control systems.
• Familiarity with Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC control systems.
• Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Knowledge of electrical design in a machine build environment.
• Experience in producing multilevel bill of materials (BOMs).
• Strong communication skills.
• Adherence to health & safety, environmental, quality, and company standards.

Preferred Skills:

• PLC programming skills.
• Understanding of ISO 13849 control system functional safety calculations and risk assessments.
• Candidates with management or leadership experience may be considered for senior roles.

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
