Job Title: Electronics Engineer

Salary: up to £60,000

For a position in advanced materials and nanotechnology, iO Associates is seeking an electronics engineer. Through the use of cutting-edge sustainable science, they create new technologies and products that help multinational brands create solutions that enhance customer performance in the fields of renewable energy, consumer electronics, 5G communications, automotive, aerospace and defence, and batteries.

In this role, you will:

• Assist the Engineering Team in enhancing and mechanising the present generation of deposition systems by adding sensors, actuators, or any other components needed to increase efficiency, repeatability, traceability, and performance.
• Assist in the design and development of novel vacuum deposition systems based on performance goals that have been agreed upon and input from clients and partners.
• Oversee the acquisition of all the electrical parts needed for a new construction.
• Make that the informatic system has current and easily accessible process documentation.
• Help partners and collaborators scale up the technology anywhere it's needed, whether it's in the US, Canada, UK, or elsewhere.

Minimum qualifications:

• Electronics Engineering related Diploma or Degree
• Experience with high voltage / high current, pulsed systems.
• Experience in PLC programming for industrial applications (Beckhoff and Mitsubishi are a plus).
• Two or more years experience designing and developing electronic boards
• Ability to design, control and interface a variety of in/out systems including motors, sensors and actuators
• Ability to rapidly design and prototype circuit boards when needed
