iO Associates have partnered with a global FMCG company based in Bridgwater, in the search for a Site Engineering Manager ( Head of Engineering). They are in over 12 countries and have multiple sites across the UK. The Bridgwater site is by far the biggest with two factories and over 26 production lines. This role is not for the faint hearted.

As Site Engineering Manager, you will lead the site engineering function to ensure there is engagement in safety, quality and performance with a strong continuous improvement culture. You will also model the company values, demonstrate, coach and lead the team in modern maintenance practices including TPM autonomous maintenance, Condition based maintenance and reliability centred maintenance.

During your time here, you will implement a 3 years strategy relating to skills & training, organisation and budgets with the ultimate aim of reducing reliance on OEMs and improving the internal skills matrix.

You will be responsible for driving down failure and maximising performance of all assets in a cost efficient manner, while using recognised CI tools to review and improve performance.

You will form a major part of the site plant leadership team and you will support the UK and European teams, building strong reliable relationships with stakeholders, as well as leading the execution of successful CAPEX projects on new production lines and operational improvements.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Experience in Senior Leadership role
  • Strong background in engineering/maintenance
  • Ideally strong background in Fast Moving Consumer Goods environment
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Self starter with ability to motivate others
  • Knowledge of modern Maintenance techniques e.g. TPM
  • Good understanding of Lean methodologies and CI initiatives
