This company specialises in advanced wireless remote technology utilised across diverse industries. With a global presence spanning 35 countries, their precise and robust products empower clients responsible for high-value and at-risk assets. They have been supporting their clients since 2005. Their technology has been ensuring safe practices in high risk environment saving lives.


We are seeking a capable individual to lead their Quality and New Product Introduction (NPI) functions.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Company's Quality Management System to ensure the highest standard of product quality.
  • Facilitate successful new product introductions through the manufacturing facility.
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the organisation, maintaining a customer-centric focus and ensuring product adherence to necessary standards.

Reporting, Location & Travel:
Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role oversees a team comprising a Senior Quality Engineer, Junior NPI Engineer, and Quality Engineer (including HSE responsibilities). The position is based in Buckinghamshire with minimal national and international travel, primarily for supplier audits, evaluation, and NCR Fault/Fact Finding.

Key Responsibilities:
The Head of Quality will provide leadership to the quality department, managing all aspects of the organisation's quality, leading coordination with engineering and product management, developing quality improvement strategies, monitoring business Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), implementing effective process and product control strategies, ensuring auditing system fitness, driving quality consistency across sites, leading continuous improvement events, chairing management reviews, promoting customer awareness, and maintaining environmental regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Continuous Improvement Skills such as PFMEA, FMEA, SPC, 8D.
  • Greenbelt, Blackbelt, and/or Lean Expert Certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrable organisational, planning, and program management skills.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities while working effectively in a team.
  • Driven, with a focus on continuous improvement and problem resolution.
  • Good computer skills with competency in using MS Office suite and other software as necessary.

Essential:

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in an Electronic Engineering Environment AS9100, ISO 9000, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, TS16949, ISO14001 previous Quality Management experience, (Automotive & Military Customers, Supplier Management), plus having completed successful improvement projects
  • Experience working in Electronic Manufacturing Environments
  • Degree educated (preferably in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering)
  • Strong influencing skills at a senior stakeholder level
  • Leadership and team development ability

Desirable:

  • Demonstrable experience at leading an implementation of QM change
  • Black Belt accredited to Lean Six Sigma
  • Experience of leading an improvement project in customer quality
