My client, a leading Food Manufacturer is looking for a HSE Manager to join their team in Carmarthenshire. Over the last couple of years they have undergone significant growth and thankfully have been able to continue and actually accelerate that growth throughout COVID.

They have doubled their production capacity and have recently taken on some new high profile customers and are already supplying into the likes of Sainsbury's, Wilkinson's and Home Bargains.

The new role is now required to ensure the sites are fully compliant given their recent expansion. You will be responsible for the H&S activities and Site facilities across the two production sites. The role involves the management of information for both internal and external reporting, liaising on compliance matters and monitoring the performance in relation to key performance indicators.

You will effectively be starting from scratch with the design and implementation of safety management systems as they've not had a HSE professional within the business before. This will involve ensuring HSE targets are met and the policies you put in place are adhered to without compromising quality or control of costs.

You will be liaising with external agencies such as Welsh Water regarding environmental issues and reporting on environmental performance to the Management team. As well as this you will act as the Chief Fire Officer on site and conduct site safety meeting on a regular basis.

A big part of the role will be Accident investigation, ensuring SOP's are up to date and really driving a safety culture within the business.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • NEBOSH Cert
  • Member of IOSH
  • Experience working as HSE professional in a manufacturing environment
  • In depth knowledge of relevant legislation and standards (ISO45001, ISO14001, HACCP, ISO9001)
  • Ability to train and up skill a workforce
  • Highly Driven and Motivated.
  • Internal Auditing Experience

The salary on offer is around £35,000. Benefits include;

  • Pension
  • Employee Discount
  • Life Insurance
  • On-site Parking
  • Wellness Programmes
