Hygiene Manager

iO associates are proud to partner with a well-established FMCG manufacturer based in Bugle, UK who are looking for a Hygiene Manager to join the team!

As the Hygiene Manager, you'll be responsible for supporting in Night shift operations and hygiene function across site.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and enhance site-wide hygiene standards and implement CAYGO (Clean As You Go) practices.
  • Efficiently manage the hygiene team to meet production hygiene standards, ensuring high-quality performance throughout the facility.
  • Coordinate and execute periodic deep-cleaning tasks and ensure thorough equipment strip-downs.
  • Maintain and organize hygiene records, including training documentation for the hygiene team.
  • Oversee inventory control of hygiene supplies and order consumables as needed.
  • Serve as the primary contact for hygiene-related audit requirements and collaborate with the QA team on routine issues.
  • Monitor and manage PPE stock for the facility.
  • Participate in extended food safety audits and work closely with the Quality Assurance team.
  • Implement and maintain systems to track and report on Hygiene KPIs, including Microbiological Standards, Labor Utilization, Stock Management, Budget Management, and Cleaning Schedules.
  • Ensure adherence to the site's Quality Management System.
  • Lead and train staff in effective cleaning procedures for production lines and the facility.
  • Optimize the use of labor, chemicals, tools, and equipment to meet the hygiene plan's requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Safety programs, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement in hygiene practices at the factory level.
  • Manage the hygiene and deep cleaning budget, ensuring cost-effective control.
  • Oversee thorough cleaning of all food production and non-food equipment, including high-level structures like overheads, pipes, lights, and extraction systems.
  • Manage both the hygiene team and external contractors for specialized cleaning tasks.
  • Participate in external audits and conduct internal audits as per the technical schedule.

Education:

  • COSHH, NEBOSH, IOSH, HACCP, Food Hygiene Certification
  • Degree or Diploma level or hands-on experience based equivalence

In return for this, you'll receive a salary of up to £50,000, alongside some great benefits such as 28 days holiday (plus bank holidays), car allowance/company car, pension contribution and Medicash.
