Infrasturcture Engineer - SC Cleared - Portsmouth - Competitive Day Rate - 6-Month Contract

iO Associates are currently looking for an Infrastructure Engineer for a 6-month contract (outside IR35) with a competitve day rate for our client based in Portsmouth, Hampshire. You must have strong VMWare Cloud experience and current and live SC Clearance is required.

This Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role will see you supporting on-prem production grade cloud IaaS services offerings across a number of hosted solutions and environments.

Core Technologies Required:

  • VMware technology on Hyper converged infrastructure (Specifically VMware Cloud Foundation SDDC Manager, vCenter, ESXi, NSX, vSAN, vRealize on Dell VxRail)
  • Extensive Linux (Ubuntu 16 & 18) and Windows knowledge
  • Data Centre Networking (specifically VMWare NSX, Cisco Nexus Spine/Leaf and Cisco ACI)
  • Active Directory (design and deploy)
  • Boundary Firewalls (Fortinet, Juniper and or ASA)
  • SIEM Monitoring, Service monitoring and KPI/SLA adherence
  • Configuration and change management
  • Data Protection (Veeam and Data Domain backup)
  • Vendor liaison, coordination and management

Nice to haves:

  • IaaS Self-service, orchestration and automation
  • Containerised application services (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • DevOps such as Jenkins and Ansible
  • Digital transformation and large scale data projects
  • Geo-dispersed and multi-site IaaS
  • Platform and OS security hardening following best practice
  • Accreditation and external security pen testing (support of)
  • Scrum, Agile and other project delivery methodologies

This Cloud VMWAre Infrastructure Engineer contract will run for an initial 6 months with the likelihood of a long extension thereafter.

Please note, you must have live SC Clearance to be considered for this Infrastructure Engineer contract and be able to work on site in Portsmouth 5 days per week. We cannot put anyone through SC Clearance for this role.
