Job Title: Lead Auditor
Location: Plymouth, Devon + Hybrid Working Arrangement
Compensation: £42,245 + Benefits

iO Associates have partnered with a leading Defence company in the search for a Lead Auditor to join their team in Plymouth.


As Lead Auditor, you'll work across the Bristol and Devonport sites designing and implementing independent assurance activities.


Day to day, you'll plan, deliver, undertake and report on audits and delivery of audit and quality training within the business:

  • Undertake, review and report findings of audits to the organisation on levels of compliance recommending corrective action as appropriate
  • Support, agree and monitor the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Participate in and facilitate improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure actions address root causes of issues identified.
  • Liaise and assist with certification bodies and customer representatives during external audits.



This role is full time, 35 hours based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard with hybrid working from home arrangements. (2 days on site)

Essential experience of the Lead Auditor:

  • Experienced Auditor.
  • Extensive knowledge and ability to apply standards of ISO9001, ISO14001 and/or ISO45001.
  • CAPA (Corrective Action Preventive Action), root cause investigation and verification.
  • Proven experience within an audit and quality assurance background.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of business management systems - Desirable



Qualifications for the Lead Auditor:

  • Lead Auditor certificate - Desirable
  • HND/HNC qualification in a relevant STEM discipline



Please note that this position is subject to enhanced national security vetting. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining SC, NNPPI or Developed Vetting (DV) level of security clearances).
