Lead Engineer / CTO (Embedded)

This role will see you working as a CTO / Lead Engineer for a small innovative start up based in west London who offer products and services for the digitalization of utility and sub metering.

You will have the advantage of playing an integral role at the top of a company who, although only two years old, is already building up a strong client base including the likes of Vodafone. As you will be a key decision maker alongside the founder, this opportunity comes with a lot of long-term potential.

As the Lead Engineer / CTO, you will support the company's technical development and support the roll out and implementation of their products.

Responsibilities and experience:

·You will have worked as a CTO or as a lead engineer in the smart meter utility industry or similar digitalisation projects.

·Lead our technology roadmap for development, manufacturing and product delivery of devices and systems for digitalisation of utility services.

·You will have strong previous experience in leading technology development, product manufacturing and delivery with at least 10 years of total relevant experience.

• A good knowledge of firmware, hardware, wireless communication and machine learning.
  
  ·Ensure security and scalability of our products and systems across the board.
  
  ·You have a have deep knowledge of smart meter technology in the utility industry, data security, and wireless connectivity.
  
  ·Manage development teams as well as 3rd party developers and manufacturers.
  
  ·Manage and communicate the engineering team and work closely with sales and management.
  
  ·Manage technical risk and monitor progress.
  
  ·Plan safe, product and system releases with the wider business.
  
  Ability to understand the following technologies:
  
  ·SMETS2 infrastructure
  
  ·NB-IoT, CAT-M and GPRS.
  
  ·Zigbee, Bluetooth and Thread.
  
  ·Machine Learning/Deep Learning applications
  
  ·Hardware development and manufacturing
  
  ·Firmware development and communication stacks.
  
  ·Device certifications.
  
  ·Plastic enclosure development
  
  ·Infrastructure as code wherever possible
