Lead Production Engineer

iO associates are currently representing a Telematics company who are looking to hire a new Lead Production Engineer to join their team. Our client is looking for a professional Engineer to add value to their Management Team. Our client design and manufacture GPS trackers for the tank industry.

As Lead Production Engineer you will be working closely with the Supply Chain manager. You will hold responsibility for the daily management of production lines and will also be setting up and optimising production processes for our clients products. You will also be accountable for Quality Management. This is a role in which you will be required to work independently so our client is looking for someone who is decisive and responsible.

In addition to guiding and coaching Production Engineers/Production Engineers, there is also frequent contact with colleagues from various departments, such as Research and Development, Logistics and Purchasing.

What you will be doing : -

* Guiding a team in the development of new products and systems (NPI);

* Designing a complete production process up to delivery;

* Assessing bottlenecks in the production process with your team, solving and preventing them;

* Defining and deploying the most efficient and effective production methods and resources;

* Specifying and releasing test methods for modules and systems;

* Execution and elaboration of risk analyses, life-cycle analyses and assembly concepts;

* Evaluating the product performance;

* Reviewing work instructions to bring them to a higher level;

* Stakeholder management with R&D and suppliers;

* Carrying out quality inspections on products and suppliers;

* Preparation of management reports (error analyses and 8D);

* Improving performance department;

* Functional management of the production team (13FTE). In addition, you have a Production Engineer and a Service Engineer in your team (2 FTE);

* Ensure a safe, hygienic and tidy work space that complies with the health and safety and environmental guidelines;

* Quality monitoring of production progress;

* You initiate, identify and interpret (technical) developments and translate these into the production process.

What do they expect from you?

* Minimum HBO work and thinking level, preferably a completed Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering;

* Knowledge of quality and improvement methods;

* Experience with Lean and FMEA is an advantage;

* Knowledge of / experience with ISO9001 and Atex is an advantage;

* You are flexible and tenacious;

* You can think and act in a process-oriented manner;

* You have a hands-on mentality and a problem-solving and service-oriented attitude;

* You are communicative, persuasive and proactive;

* You have a perfect command of the Dutch language;

* You have a good command of the English language;

* Experience working with ERP software;

* Experience in a production environment is an advantage;

* Experience in the electronics industry is a plus.
