Role: Legal Counsel within Defence

Location: Bristol (remote flexibility)

Salary: Up to £90,000

We are representing a UK defence client who is currently looking to appoint their first UK Legal Counsel to assist with their continued growth and compliance.

As the team continue to grow their UK presence they are looking to hire a Legal Counsel to represent the business. The role would see you working directly with the Commercial Director, sister legal teams and also third party legal service providers and sit central to our continued growth within the UK.

As sole Legal Counsel, you would be responsible for a variety of tasks with touchpoints across; litigation, commercial law, resolution and disputes.

This is a truly unique opportunity for an individual currently in practice or in-house that is looking for their next big move - this role would afford the opportunity to join a business at an early point in the journey and give the right individual the opportunity to forge legal policy and strategy within the UK.

Responsibilities will include:

• Devising company strategy and assisting day to day legal matters.
• Providing support across the business on a variety of legal issues and enquiries.
• Advising on commercial, property, HR and litigation matters.
• Drafting and refining legal contracts and compliance.
• Working closely with external counsel and representatives of subsidiaries.

What they're looking for:

• Experienced Lawyer with PQE 2-7 from firm or in-house department.
• Multitasker with proven experience in varied legal fields.
• Excellent communicator and stakeholder manager.
• Experience of commercial, labour and property law.
• Comfortable with advising senior management on policy and strategy.
