Manufacturing Engineer - Aerospace

Are you a proactive Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for driving quality and efficiency in aerospace production environments?
iO Associates are proud to be supporting a leading aerospace manufacturer seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join their high-performance engineering team. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of improving manufacturing processes, supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), and delivering continuous improvement across quality, cost, and throughput.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and optimise manufacturing processes for quality, efficiency, and safety.
Lead NPI industrialisation including tooling, work instructions, and validation plans.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across RFT, productivity, and waste reduction.
Apply Lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, time studies, line balancing) and Six Sigma methods.
Use APQP and lead PPAP processes to ensure product readiness and compliance.
Define and maintain SOPs, routings, and process controls to aerospace standards (AS9100/NADCAP).
Troubleshoot and resolve issues using 8D, RCA, and DMAIC methodologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, production, quality, and supply chain.
What We're Looking For:
5+ years' experience in manufacturing engineering (aerospace, defense, or high-spec industries).
Degree/HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering.
Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, SPC, PFMEA, and GD&T.
Lean Six Sigma tools and continuous improvement leadership experience.
Excellent communication and project management skills.
Desirable:
Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
Engineering Council registration (EngTech, IEng, CEng)
ERP systems experience
Knowledge of special processes (e.g., forging, heat treatment, machining)
