Job title: Panels Assembly Technician
Locations: Stevenage UK
Salary: £21.74 per hour Inside IR35 plus 20% shift uplift
Working pattern: On-site
Duration: 12 months (high possibility of extension)
Shifts : 06:00 - 14:00 & 14:00 - 22:00 (Fridays on this shift pattern will be 12:00- 20:00) Monday to Friday in fortnightly rotation (after initial familiarisation period)

*Midweek and Weekend additional hours available ad hoc

iO Associates is looking for a Mechanical technician panel, required to produce a consistently high-quality product in line with production paperwork.; whilst maintaining alignment with quality, cost and delivery. To undertake production activities in the required timescale in line with the production plan.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working as a member of an AIT Operations team to consistently produce items which conform to all quality requirements in accordance with the production plan.
  • Able to insert panels with the correct type of mechanical fasteners.
  • Potting of inserts
  • Bonding of various brackets and equipment
  • Bonding of inserts, using various adhesives
  • Bonding components and sub-assemblies using adhesives to drawing specifications
  • Maintain all health & safety disciplines in the composite area.


Skills Required:

  • Previous experience such as Composite manufacturing, mechanical fitter, close tolerance sheet metal worker, time served mechanical technician
  • Ability to work from detailed drawings and electronic work instructions - within specific procedures
  • Experience working to procedures with checkpoints/quality gates
  • Experience in industries such as Space/Aerospace/Automotive/Motorsport etc.
