Overview

A client of ours are in search of an SC cleared Power BI Specialist to support data-driven decision-making for one of their defence accounts. This role is pivotal in transforming complex datasets into actionable insights that enhance operational efficiency, strategic planning, and mission success.

🧠 Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to Defence operational needs
Collaborate with stakeholders across intelligence, logistics, and command teams to understand data requirements
Integrate data from secure sources including SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, and bespoke Defence systems
Ensure compliance with MOD data governance, security protocols, and reporting standards
Optimise data models for performance and scalability in high-security environments
Provide training and support to end-users, fostering a data-literate culture across the organisation
Contribute to the development of data strategy and analytics capability within the Defence client

🛠️ Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience with Power BI (DAX, Power Query, Dataflows, Row-Level Security)
Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and visual storytelling
Experience working in secure environments with classified or sensitive data
Familiarity with MOD or Defence sector reporting frameworks and terminology
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Ability to work independently under strict confidentiality and compliance standards
Active SC clearance (used within the last 12 months)
Experience working with Fabric

🎯 Desirable

Experience with Azure Data Services, SQL Server, or other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik)
Knowledge of Defence operations, logistics, or intelligence workflows
Background in data science or advanced analytics (Python, R, ML models)
