iO Associates has partnered with a fast-growing technology company developing innovative energy storage solutions that could revolutionize multi-hour storage. This position will focus on producing and coordinating key design outputs to advance the system from front-end engineering design to commissioned plant, meeting cost and performance targets.

Process Engineer

Nottingham, UK

Salary upto £60,000 per annum.

Responsibilities:

Design:

  • Ensure that process engineering within projects is carried out in accordance with required engineering and project processes.
  • Review and acceptance of process engineering documentation and drawings produced by the external supply chain.
  • Own and control Process documentation such as PFD's, P&ID's, H&MB, Layouts, Cause and effect diagrams, control and operating philosophy, Standard Operating Procedures, etc.
  • Following through the design process from feasibility studies, conceptual design, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), Detailed Design/Engineering of process solutions as may be required, plant pre-commissioning, commissioning.
  • Development of process simulations.
  • Attending and contributing to technical design review meetings.
  • Championing the management of change process
  • Assessing and improving design for manufacture, assembly, maintenance.
  • Creating specifications, identifying suppliers, managing procurement process, identifying and implementing verification activities.
  • Management of suppliers and coordination with team to meet plan.
  • Planning and project management of assembly process for subsystems.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of process and systems engineering, safety and performance analysis for high-pressure, high-temperature systems.
  • An understanding of quality assurance and certification requirements for such systems.
  • An understanding of how to specify pressure equipment and engage with potential suppliers to verify that they are capable of delivering to specification, budget and schedule.
  • An understanding of installation, commissioning, operating documentation and in service support requirements for such systems.
  • Project, risk, cost, forecasting and budget management skills.
  • Excellent teamworking and communication skills.
